Forbidden Worlds Film Festival

Bristol's leading genre film festival returns to the Bristol Megascreen for another long weekend of cult cinema, special guests and big-screen magic. This year's theme is gods, monsters, myths and legends — a globe-spanning celebration of fantastical storytelling from sword-and-sorcery epics to prehistoric adventures and alien encounters.

The 2026 line-up includes a 4K restoration of Arthurian classic Excalibur, a 40th anniversary screening of Highlander, and a 45th anniversary screening of Clash of the Titans, with the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation in attendance. Special guest Terry English, the world-renowned armourer behind the armour in Excalibur and weapons for Aliens, Gladiator and more, joins as this year's Forbidden Legend.

Rounding things out: cult animated adventure Fire and Ice, French horror-action hybrid The Brotherhood of the Wolf, Italian horror maestro Lucio Fulci's Conquest, and a short film showcase celebrating the next generation of genre filmmakers.
