Our Story

Bristol Festivals is the independent guide to festivals across Bristol. One place to find what is on, from city-wide celebrations that draw hundreds of thousands of people to small community events you would otherwise only hear about by word of mouth. All of it, all year round, in one calendar. No ads, no pop-ups, no paid partnerships.

How it started

Bristol Festivals began with a domain and a good intention. Years ago there was no decent place to find festivals in Bristol, so we bought the name with the plan to build one. Then work and life got in the way, and the idea sat quietly for the best part of a decade.

What changed was us. G&V, our agency, grew smaller, sharper and better placed to spend time on its own brands and passion projects. Bristol Festivals was finally built the way it was always meant to be: a clear snapshot of what is on this week, this month and beyond, backed by a full listing that is easy to browse.

What we cover

Every kind of festival: music, arts and culture, food and drink, comedy, film, literature, family and grassroots community events. Free festivals and ticketed ones. Long-running institutions and first-year newcomers. If it is a festival in BS, we want it here.

Bristol Festivals is independent and free to use, built and run by G&V LABS as a passion project. The aim is simple: the most complete, most useful picture of what is happening across the city, kept current so you can actually plan around it.

The principle has not changed since day one. No ads. No pop-ups. No paid partnerships. Just an independent, genuinely useful guide to the festivals happening across Bristol.

Bristol Festivals

Why Bristol

Bristol punches above its weight when it comes to festivals. For a city of its size, the breadth and quality of what happens here across music, food, film, art, culture and community is genuinely remarkable. But it's scattered. Buried in Instagram feeds, lost in generic event aggregators, or simply never written down anywhere a visitor or a new resident would think to look.

Bristol deserves better than that. Visitors planning a trip deserve to know that a world-class food festival or a legendary street carnival is happening the same weekend. Bristolians deserve a single place that reflects the full picture of the city they live in, not just the biggest names.

That's what Bristol Festivals is for.

What counts as a "Bristol" festival?

We cover any festival that takes place within the BS postcode area. If it sits inside BS, from central Bristol out to Portishead, Clevedon, Nailsea and Weston-super-Mare, it belongs here.

You have to draw the line somewhere, and the BS postcode felt like the fair one. It captures the city and the towns that share its festival culture, using a boundary that is clear and consistent rather than a matter of opinion. No debating whether somewhere is "Bristol enough".

The only BS we tolerate here is the postcode!
